Massachusetts Quality Installation Verification
Wilson is pleased to be one of the very few HVAC contractors in Western Massachusetts to offer the Quality Installation Verification program with the Honeywell Service Assistant. The tool allows us to observe a multitude of technical readings simultaneously through the help of a Palm Pilot. To understand more about how this benefits you and your air conditioning system, please go to Refrigeration (A/C).
QIV is a COOL SMART way to ensure quality and energy savings!
The Quality Installation Verification (QIV) analysis checks for proper refrigerant charge and air flow of the central air conditioner or heat pump systems. A COOL SMART trained air-conditioning technician who works for the installing contractor tests the system while it’s running and takes a series of measurements which are analyzed via computer. Within a few minutes the homeowner knows how their system is performing.
My system is new, how can there be a problem?
Contrary to most consumers’ expectations, even newly installed systems are often charged incorrectly or have incorrect air flow. Charge can only be set properly with respect to airflow. In most cases contractors do not check airflow. Incorrect charge and airflow reduce energy efficiency and can lead to repair calls and shorter system life or compressor failure. However, thanks to COOL SMART’s new QIV initiative, you don’t have to worry!
Quality Installation Verification
COOL SMART Verifies the results
Customers receive a confirmation report from COOL SMART by mail which:
- Verifies your system has been properly tested and adjusted for refrigerant charge and airflow
- Reports on any adjustments and/or repairs needed and made
Benefits of QIV:
- Increased system efficiency and lower operating expenses
- Fewer repairs and longer equipment life expectancy
- Improved dehumidification and a higher level of comfort
Please ask Gary Wilson specifically about ESQI and QIV before initiating any service work or installation work at your home; not every service we perform qualifies for ESQI and QIV
- Spring Cleaning Should Include An Air Conditioning Tune Up
As a home owner you should be aware of what is involved in an air conditioning tuneup. If you read any home maintenance articles this spring, most will encourage an A/C tuneup; some will even claim 25% savings. Predicting savings without knowing what type of tuneup received is a little silly. Encouraging a tune up...Read More
- Measuring House Air Tightness
Despite the growing importance of house air tightness, few Hampshire County homeowners actually know how tight their homes are. Unfortunately, it is virtually impossible to accurately estimate the tightness level of a home by visual inspection alone. And without knowing house air tightness, it is difficult to assess the need for, or to design an...Read More
