Wilson Services – Cost of Service
We understand that servicing your plumbing, heating and cooling equipment often times is not a planned event. We also understand spending money on bulky equipment stuffed away in your basement or attic isn’t your first choice when it comes to the many options with how to spend your hard earned money. When you need plumbing and HVAC services, two thoughts will likely cross your mind:
When I get this fixed, and how much will this cost me?
After hundreds of “new system installations” and thousands of “service calls”, and over 20 years of serving the community, we have stood the test of time and charge a fair price for our time and efforts. Please understand we are not the cheapest contractor (smaller operations have lower overhead costs). Also, please understand that some service-related plumbing, heating and cooling problems cannot be fixed or resolved on the initial visit to your home/business. Just like your auto mechanic does not have every part for your car on their shelf, we often times need to order materials to correct your system’s servicing needs.
Our goal is to get your servicing needs taken care of and that you will be confident in calling us for future business as well.
Please consider the following before calling our company for service:
Our minimum invoice is $125. This covers the first hour needs to travel to and from your location and diagnosing the problem. This is “up to an hour” meaning it is possible that the total servicing time could possibly be less than an hour, yet the same minimum invoice of $125 would still apply. If the problem cannot be diagnosed within the one hour total time frame (travel and on-site), the cost will be higher. Please call our office during regular business hours for an explanation of your specific servicing needs.
Once the problem has been identified you will be told what the costs will be to correct the situation. Please keep in mind that on occasion there could be several problems, and we cannot possibly know this until the first problem is corrected. It is impossible for our technicians to guarantee that the initial servicing need is the ‘only’ problem that needs attention.
It is possible (although a rare occurrence) that a number of hours may be required to diagnose your plumbing, heating or cooling serving needs. Our technician will inform you of this possibility if the original $125 invoice fee will not be adequate to fully diagnose the problem. Please keep in mind, depending on your geographic location, the initial $125 may not be adequate to fully diagnose the problem.
Our small staff cannot service everyone who calls: If you have a current ‘maintenance agreement’ or if you have a ‘new system installation’ that is still under a Wilson installation warranty, you will be at the top of the list. All other previous customers: if possible we will do our best to take care of your servicing needs, but we make no guarantees. To new callers: please call during regular business hours to set up an appointment.
Calls coming in after 2:00PM will have an after-hours charge. If our schedule is full it is possible that an after-hours fee will be charged even if your call comes in that morning. Many of our customers can wait for the next ‘regular hours’ opening, yet if you need after-hours service it must be set up with a Wilson Services employee (our answering service does not know our technician’s availability). We advise that you have some inexpensive electric space heaters form emergency no-heat situations.
All servicing and invoicing is due COD. Multiple trips may mean multiple invoices and payments.
We offer a “50% off” to our Maintenance Agreement customers, yet there still is a minimum invoice charge. For example we cannot travel 20 or 30 minutes, diagnose the problem, and travel 20 or 30 minutes back for 50% of $125 (which would be $62.50). The minimum invoice for service agreement customers during regular working hours is $100.
We request that the person calling our company for servicing needs will remain the ‘main contact’. If your acquaintance, neighbor or relative is knowledgeable in plumbing, heating and cooling, we require that we have the initial communication with this person before our technician is dispatched.
