Wilson Services – Cost of Installations
When it comes to replacing your existing heating and cooling equipment, you have options. Our goal is to try to give you several options ranging from “entry-level” to “top-of-the-line”. It is very common these days for most HVAC contractors to come to your home/place of business, evaluate your needs, and send you one price. I feel as though it is more appropriate to offer several ideas because it is not my place to make assumptions regarding what type of investment you, the property owner, wish to make.
For over 20 years my employees and I have delivered good, quality workmanship on hundreds of systems. Our prices are not the lowest, and to add to that topic please read further on. Many of today’s systems require specific installation practices, and even more important in many of our installations is what “control system” is being utilized to operate the heating and cooling equipment. It is easy to be misinformed when it comes to heating and cooling, and even your hot water system for your faucets; many of these methods change when there are seemingly slight variations in the system layout. To think that all companies (and their technicians) have the same training and attention to detail would be a mistake.
Once you call and set up an appointment, I will come meet you and discuss what your needs are. Often I will recommend approaches and ideas you may not have considered. Then I will go back to my office and perform the various steps to come up with a number of options. I then will set up another appointment (or on occasion will email you if timing is critical) a basic outline discussing different systems and the pricing as well. Once you decide which system best suites your needs I quickly paste the pertinent information into an agreement. We traditionally ask for a 10% deposit upon acceptance of our agreement (many companies ask for 50%). When we begin the project, as in we have the materials at your home and we are ready to start work, we then receive a second payment, normally 50%. Depending on how large the job is, there may be one or possible two subsequent payments.
If low cost is your need, we most likely won’t be the company for you. But consider this: many of our installations are due to improper installation or application. That’s where the lay person is unable to distinguish the subtle differences. We have a number of customers who came to us second and not first, and paid dearly for paying twice rather than once. You are purchasing a service, you are not purchasing an air conditioner or a furnace. For those who have Wilson install their systems, we offer a $25 discount off of the annual service (this service is not enforced by any means, yet it is highly recommended). My hope is that you will give me the opportunity to explain what my company can do for you.
